「焦げている臭いがする」は、"It smells like something burning / ablazing." と言います。 ▶ smell 【動】匂いがする ▶ like 【前】～のような・～のように ▶ burning 【形】燃えている ▶ ablaze 【形】燃え立って - I smell something burning. "like" が入らないと、「何か焦げている臭いがする」と断定する言い方になります。 - It smells like something burning. 何か焦げているような臭いがします。 - Can you smell that smoke? I think something is burning/ablaze. その煙の臭いがしますか？ 何かが燃えているような気がします。 " I think " と入れることで、表現に少し柔らかさが出てきます。 参考になさってくださいね。

「トイレを我慢する」は "hold it" と表現します。 この it は "pee"「おしっこ」 のことですね。 - Can you hold it a little longer? もう少しトイレ我慢できる？？？ - Can you wait until we get home? 家に着くまで待てる？？？ 【参考】 「トイレに行きたい」を英語に直訳すると、"I want to go to the bathroom." と "want to" を使いたくなりますが、英語では "need to" や "have to" などを使って、"I need to go to the bathroom." と表現します。 トイレに行きたい => 必要性がある！というニュアンスを出すためです。 参考になさってくださいね。

干し柿は "dried persimmons" と言います。 ドライフルーツは "dried fruit"です。　 dried の後に果物名を入れればOKです。 「柿は好きだけど、干し柿は苦手です。」をシンプルに言ってみますね。 - I like persimmons, but only when they're fresh, not dried. - I don't like dried persimmons, but I love fresh persimmons. 「好きではない」ことを、口語では次のような言い方をします。 ▶I’m not a fan of　～を好きではありません。 ▶I’m not a big fan of　～を特に好きではありません。 - I like persimmons, but I'm not a fan of dried persimmons. 柿は好きなのですが、干し柿は苦手なんです。 ▶not keen on 　～を好きではありません。 ▶not too keen on 　～をあまり好きではありません。 - I like persimmons, but I'm not too keen on dried persimmons. 柿は好きですが、干し柿はあまり好きではありません。 直接的に “I don’t like” と言うとキツく聞こえますが、このような言い方をするとソフトに聞こえますよ。 参考にしていただけると幸いです。
