大学の単位は credit / college credit で表現出来ます。
creditは "信頼、信用、単位"という意味を持ちます。

It's normal/common for～で『～にとっては普通』という表現になります。
～には人が入ります。

It is normal for college students to stay out late at night with friends.
『大学生だったら友達と夜遅くまで遊ぶのは普通だよ』

大御所はInfluential figure/magnateで表現出来ます。

Influential figureは"大物、大御所"
magnateは"有力者、大物、大立者"という意味を持ちます。
