初めまして☆2017年からNCを始め、2019年にNC講師になりました。現在は育児の隙間時間に翻訳や自習をしながら復帰に向けて準備中です♪

応募する を英語で教えて!

「応募する」は【apply～】です。

ex. 絵画作品を募集していたので、私も応募します。
There was a call for painting works, so I will also apply.

ex. 沢山の応募が集まったので私が選ばれたのが信じられない。
I can't believe I was chosen because a lot of applications were collected.
application=応募

ex. 私はその会社に志願します。
I will apply for that company.

遠巻き を英語で教えて!

「遠巻き」とは「近づく事なく、遠くの方から取り巻くこと」を意味します。
「遠巻きに様子を見守っていました」は【I was watching the situation in the distance.】です。

ex. その火事の様子を遠くから ( 遠巻きに ) 眺めていました。
I was watchig the fire from a distance.
from a distance = 遠くから

ex. 遠巻きから騒ぎの様子をうかがっていた。
I was listing to the state of the commotion from a distance.
commotion＝騒ぎ

遠くを見る を英語で教えて!

「遠くを見る」は【 look far away 】です。
look は「～を見る」、far away は 副詞で「遠く離れて」です。
(☆far away は形容詞 の場合もあります。)

ex. 時々遠くを見ると目が休まるよ。
Sometimes when you look far away, your eyes rest.

ex. 窓から遠くを眺めてぼーっとしています。
I'm in a daze looking far from the window.

daze = ぼーっとした状態
be in a daze = ぼーっとしている

遠い親類 を英語で教えて!

親戚は【 relative(s) 】です。
「遠い親類」は英語で【 distant relative 】です。
また「近い親戚」だと【close relative 】となります。
ニュアンスの近い【 relation（関係) 】も「親戚」という意味で使われることがあるようです。

ex. 彼は遠い親類のようだ。
He seems to be a distant relative.

ex. あの方はあなたの親戚ですか？
Is he a relation of yours？
Is he any relation to you？

縁談がまとまる を英語で教えて!

「縁談がまとまる」は「結婚に対してのお互いの意思がまとまる」という意味です。
ちなみに英語では「縁談」という表現の直訳は無いようです。

【The marriage proposal is arranged 】【The offer of marrige is settled. 】などの表現が近いと思います。

ex. 私達の縁談はこじれました。
Our marriage proposal didn't come together well.

ex. 縁談がまとまり、私の親は喜びました。
My parents were happy because my marriage proposal was settled.
