躍起になる を英語で教えて!

ライバルチームも躍起になっているようだよ。
It seems that the rival team is also desperate.

「躍起になる」は【焦ってむきになる様】のことです。
【be desperate 】で伝わります。

despetateは形容詞で「死に物狂いの～」「必死の～」という意味です。
また"be despetate for~=～が欲しくてたまらない"、"be desperate to～＝～したくてたまらない"
という使い方があります。

例文
良い得点をとるのに必死でした。
I was desperate to get good scores.
I was desperate for good scores.

薬物治療 を英語で教えて!

彼は病院で薬物治療をしている。
He is doing drug tretment at the hospital.

「薬物治療」は【drug tretment】【pharmacotherapy 】です。

drug=薬品、薬物/麻薬、覚せい剤
(drug は一義的に薬を指します。medicine 治療のための薬品のことです。)
tretment=治療、処置

例文
急いで薬物治療に移行しよう。
Let's move on to drug tretment in a hurry.
薬物療法の講義を受講する。
I get a lecture on pharmacotherapy.

役割を担う を英語で教えて!

最近の父兄は役割を担うのが嫌いな人が多いです。
There are a lot of parents who don't like to take on roles these days.

「役割を担う,引き受ける」は【take on a role】です。
【play a role】「役目を果たす」と書き替え可能。

take (on)=～を担う、引き受ける
role=役割

parents＝父兄(保護者のことです)

例文
小学校ではクラスの全員がそれぞれの役割を担います。
In elementary school , everyone in the class plays a role.
All children in the class take on each of roles.

目次 を英語で教えて!

まず本の目次に目を通そう。
First, I'll look through the table of contents of the book.

「目次」【a table of contents 】で言う事が出来ます。
また【index】も同じく「目次」のことです。

look through ＝～に目を通す
(seeのさっと見るよりもlook は注意をしてしっかり見るというニュアンスがあります。）

例文
目次を見ただけでわくわくしてきた。
I'm getting excited just by looking at the table of contents .

目次を見て各章のページを確認下さい。
Please look at the table of contents and check the pages of each chapter.

問題にケリをつける を英語で教えて!

「去年、タイ工場の問題にはケリをつけましたよね？」
The problem of the factory in Thailand was completed last year, wasn't it?

「問題にケリをつける」→【完結する】【終わりにする】という意味です。
「～を完成する」「終わりにする」は他動詞【complete】です。
形容詞の意味もあり「完全な」「この上ない」となります。

また「終わりにする」【 finish 】は類語で、言い替えが出来る場合もあります。

例文
彼女との問題にけりをつけたい。
I want to finish the problem with her.
会社からの要求を仕上げる為にしっかり勉強します。
I study hard to complete the requirements from the company.
