「とろみをつける」は英語では thicken と表現することができます。

Thicken with dogtooth violet starch.
（片栗粉でとろみをつけます。）
※ dogtooth violet starch（片栗粉）

It should still be watery at this point, so add some flour to thicken it.
（この時点ではまだ、水っぽいはずなので、小麦粉を加えてとろみをつけます。）
