「却って高くつく」は英語では rather expensive や expensive on the contrary などで表現することができます。

「電話で済む」は英語では can be done over the phone と表現することができます。

「用事はそれだけ？」は英語では Is that all you have to do? や Is that all you have a thing to do? などで表現することができます。
