「いただきます。」は英語では Thank you for preparing the dinner. や Thank you for preparing the meal. などで表現することができると思います。

※ちなみに dinner は「夕食」という意味でよく使われますが、「一日の中での、主要な食事」という意味があります。

「ちょうど家に帰ってきたところです。」ですが、基本的には I just got back home. や I just arrived back home. などで「帰ってきた（着いた）」などで表現することができると思います。
※just came home でも問題はないとは思いますが、「着いた」「到着した」という面を強調したい場合は、上記の表現が適していると思います。

Sorry. I just got back home. I'll prepare it immediately.
（ごめんなさい。ちょうど家に帰ってきたところです。すぐに用意します。）

What happened? I just arrived back home.
（どうしたんですか？ちょうど家に帰ってきたところなんです。）
