research は「研究」「調査」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、動詞として「研究する」「調査する」などの意味も表せます。また、stage は「舞台」「ステージ」「段階」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、動詞として「興行する」「上演する」などの意味も表現できます。

phase は「段階」「局面」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、動詞として「次の段階にいく」「段階的に導入する」などの意味を表せます。

虚言癖 を英語で教えて!

habitual lying
虚言癖

habitual は「習慣的な」「常習的な」などの意味を表す形容詞になります。また、lying は「嘘」「嘘をつくこと」「捏造」などの意味を表す名詞です。

Actually, I have habitual lying, so I would like you to fix it.
（実は、虚言癖があるので直してほしい。）

compulsive lying
虚言癖

compulsive は「強迫的な」「衝動的な」などの意味を表す形容詞ですが、名詞として「強迫観念にとらわれた人」という意味も表せます。

I didn't do that. He has compulsive lying.
（私はそんなことしていません。彼には虚言癖があるんです。）

貴婦人 を英語で教えて!

貴婦人

lady は「女性」という意味を表すフォーマルな表現ですが、「貴婦人」「淑女」といった意味も表せます。

（朝、学校に来る途中、美しい貴婦人とすれ違った。）

noble は「貴族の」という意味を表す形容詞ですが、「立派な」「気品のある」などの意味でも使われます。

引力 を英語で教えて!

attraction は「引力」「磁力」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、「人を惹きつける力」「魅力」「観光名所」などの意味も表せます。

gravity

gravity は「引力」「重力」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、「重要性」「大切さ」などの意味で使われることもあります。

共和制 を英語で教えて!

republican system
共和制

republican は「共和主義の」「共和国の」などの意味を表す形容詞ですが、名詞として「共和主義者」や「共和党員」などの意味でも使われます。また、system は「制度」「体制」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、「系統」「装置」などの意味も表せます。

Before adopting a republican system, the country was also a constitutional country.
（この国も共和制を採用する前は、立憲君主国でした。）
※ちなみに、「立憲君主制」の場合は、constitutional monarchy と表現できます。
