「付き合いづらいタイプ」は英語では difficult type to get along with や hard type to get along with などで表現することができると思います。

The wife next door is a difficult type to get along with.
（お隣の奥さんは、付き合いづらいタイプだわ。）

He's short-tempered, so he's a hard type to get along with.
（彼は短気だから、付き合いずらいタイプだよ。）

※ちなみに difficult や hard は「難しい」という意味を表せますが、difficult の方が固いニュアンスの表現になると思います。
