邦人 を英語で教えて!

「邦人」は英語では Japanese people や Japanese nationals などで表現することができます。

You should expand the authority of the Self-Defense Forces to rescue Japanese people.
（邦人救助のためにも自衛隊の権限拡大を。）
※ authority（権限、権威、など）

There are many Japanese nationals in 〇〇.
（〇〇には邦人の方々がたくさんいらっしゃいます。）

※ちなみに nationals は「国民」という意味を表現できます。（foreign nationals と言うと「外国人」という意味を表せます。）

延伸 を英語で教えて!

「延伸」は英語では extension や stretching などで表現することができます。

I’m against the subway extension plan because it is expected to be crowded.
（混雑が予想されるので、地下鉄の延伸計画には反対です。）

This cloth is not long enough so you need to stretch.
（この布、長さが足りないから、延伸する必要がある。）

※ちなみに stretch 「誇張」という意味で使われることもあります。

風車 を英語で教えて!

「風車」は英語では windmill や wind turbine などで表現することができます。

That is the famous windmill. They dewater with that.
（あれが有名な風車です。あれによって排水をしています。）

This is a windy area, so wind turbines are installed.
（ここは風の強い地域なので、風車が設置されています。）

※ちなみに wind turbine の場合は、発電の為の風車になります。

正門 を英語で教えて!

「正門」は英語では main gate や front gate などで表現することができます。

The back gate is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, so please go around to the main entrance.
（土日は裏門を閉鎖してるので、正面玄関へお回り下さい。）

There is a bus stop in front of you when you exit the front gate.
（正門を出ると目の前にバス停がございます。）

※ちなみに front はスラング的に、「自慢する」「嘘をつく」などの意味で使われたりします。

興信所 を英語で教えて!

「興信所」は英語では detective agency や credit agency などで表現することができます。

My husband’s behaviors are suspicious, so I’d like to request a detective from the detective agency.

I have used the credit agency several times for corporate research.
（企業調査の為に何度か興信所を利用しました。）

※ちなみに credit agency の場合は、企業などに関する調査を行うタイプの「興信所」になります。
