最近、朝晩がめっきり寒くなった。

chilly は「肌寒い」や「冷え込む」という意味でカジュアルな表現です。

最近、朝晩がめっきり寒くなったね。冬が確実に近づいているよ。

1. He often uses rough language.
彼は荒っぽい言葉を使うことが多い。

rough language は「荒っぽい言葉、乱暴な言葉」という意味です。

例文
He often uses rough language, especially when he’s angry.
彼は怒ると特に荒っぽい言葉を使うことが多い。

2. He tends to speak in a harsh way.
彼は荒っぽい言葉を使うことが多い。

tends to ~ は「～する傾向がある」、
harsh way は「荒々しい（厳しい）話し方」という意味で、乱暴な口調を指します。

例文
He tends to speak in a harsh way without realizing it.
彼は自覚せずに荒っぽい言葉を使うことが多い。

とっさに声が出なかった を英語で教えて!

1. I was so shocked that I couldn’t say a word.
とっさに声が出なかった。

so shocked that ~ は「とても驚いて〜した（できなかった）」という構文で、
couldn’t say a word は「一言も発せなかった」という意味です。

例文
I was so shocked that I couldn’t say a word when I heard the news.
そのニュースを聞いて、驚きすぎてとっさに声が出なかった。

2. I was too stunned to speak.
とっさに声が出なかった。

too stunned to ~ は「驚きすぎて〜できなかった」という表現で、
stunned は「衝撃を受けた」「呆然とした」という意味です。

その事故を見て、驚きすぎてとっさに声が出なかった。

やけに親切だった を英語で教えて!

1. She / He was unusually kind.
やけに親切だった。

unusually kind は「いつもより異常に親切」というニュアンスを持ちます。

2. She / He was being overly nice.
やけに親切だった。

being overly nice は「過度に優しくしている」という意味で、少し不自然なくらいに親切である、というニュアンスを含みます。

He was being overly nice to me. It felt a bit suspicious.
彼はやけに親切だった。ちょっと怪しく感じたよ。

わりと静かな街なので、住みやすい を英語で教えて!

1. This town is fairly quiet, so it’s a nice place to live.
わりと静かな街なので、住みやすい。

fairly は「まあまあ」という意味で、fairly quiet で「わりと静か」というニュアンスを出せます。

例文
This neighborhood is fairly quiet, so it’s a comfortable place to live.
この地域はわりと静かなので、快適に住める。

2. Since this town is relatively quiet, it’s easy to live here.
わりと静かな街なので、住みやすい。

relatively は「比較的」という意味です。こちらも「わりと」といったニュアンスで使われることが多いです。

この地域は比較的静かなので、ここでの生活はとても快適だ。
