自己紹介

フリーランスで英語教室を運営しておりますが、
今年の3月までは公立高校の英語教諭として10年勤務しておりました。

英語力は、実用英語技能検定１級、TOEIC985点です。

卯年 を英語で教えて!

「卯年」は、上記のように表現します。「イヤーオブザラビット」と発音します。
また、「干支」は、Chinese zodiac といいます。「チャイニーズゾディアック」と発音します。

今年は卯年だね。

中国の干支によると、私は卯年生まれです。

子年 を英語で教えて!

「子年」は、上記のように表現します。
「イヤーオブザラット」と発音します。

いいのに を英語で教えて!

「いいのに」は、上記のように表現します。
本来は、 You shouldn't have done that. 「それをすべきではなかったのに」ですが、 done that は省略されています。
「ユー シュドント ハヴ」を発音します。

例文
You shouldn’t have! I feel bad that you went through all this trouble.
そんなのいいのに！こんなに気を使わせて申し訳ないよ。（わざわざこんな面倒かけて申し訳ないよ）
※ feel bad 申し訳なく思う
※ go through 〜を経験する

水力発電 を英語で教えて!

「水力発電」は、上記のように表現します。
hydro- は、水を表すときに使う接頭辞です。
「ハイドロエレクトリック パワー」と発音します。

水力発電所は、水の流れを利用して電気を生み出します。

respect は「尊敬、尊重」という意味です。
aged は「お年寄り」という意味です。
