話が脱線する を英語で教えて!

1. off the track
「話が脱線する」はoff the trackと言います。
元々の意味は、「脱線して、横道にそれて」となり、会話が本題から外れているときの「脱線」にも使えます。

例文
We are off the track, so let's get back to the main point.
話が脱線しているので、本題に戻りましょう。

Don't get off the track.
脱線しないで(本題からずれないで)。

2. off on a tangent
tangentも同様の意味で使える単語です。「(話題などが)ずれた、無関係の」という意味です。

例文）
I’m going to go off on a tangent a little here.
ちょっと話が脱線してしまうのですが。

お手並み拝見 を英語で教えて!

1. seeing what you've got here
「お手並み拝見」は、seeing what you've got hereのように言います。

what you've got
あなたが持っているもの、あなたがしたこと≒あなたのスペック

例文)
Let's see what you've got here.
お手並みを拝見しよう。

Please show me what you've got here.
お手並みを拝見させてください。

show me～：わたしに～を見せてください

2. Let us show how well you can～．
あなたがどれくらい上手に～をできるか見せてください。≒お手並み拝見させてください。
という表現もあります。

Let 人 動詞：人に～(動詞)をさせる
how well：どれくらい上手に
you can～：～できる

例文）
Let us hear how well you can play the piano.
あなたがどれくらい上手にピアノを弾けるか見せてください。≒ピアノのお手並み拝見させてください。

顔を見合わせる を英語で教えて!

look at each other：顔を見合わせる
look at：見る　＋　each other：お互いに

We looked at each other in shock.
あきれてわたしたちは顔を見合わせた。

in shock：あきれて、ショックのあまり

look at each otherを使った例文
Spontaneously we looked at each other.
思わず顔を見合わせてしまった。

Spontaneously ：思わず、つい、何気なく、ふいに

We looked at each other and laughed.
私たちは顔を見合わせて笑ってしまいました。

cutting edge：最先端な

例文）

S be動詞 on the cutting edge：Sは最先端である、最先端をいっている。

What a～：なんて～なんだろう！(感嘆詞)

at the time：その時、当時は

「当時としては最先端の技術だった」は、

just bits and bytes
ちょっとやそっと（の量）

どのようなものの程度を表すかによって表現が違ってきます。

「ちょっとやそっとの量ではない」であれば
There are not just bits and bytes.

「ちょっとやそっとではへこたれない」であれば
I am bloody but unbowed.

「ちょっとやそっとでは目を覚まさない」であれば
I am a sound sleeper.

sound sleeper：熟睡する人、良く寝る人、寝坊しがちな人

「ちょっとやそっとのミスはしない」であれば
I will not make small mistakes.

文章によって使い分けてみて下さい。
