「放射能」は上記の表現があります。

「放射する」の「radiate」から派生した単語が radioactivity です。
radiation 「放射線」を発生させる能力のことを radioactivity「放射能」といいます。
放射能により発生した放射線物質を大量に浴びると私達の細胞を傷つき、癌などの症状を引き起こします。
この「放射線を浴びる/被曝する」は be exposed to radiation と表現します。

近年、癌の治療に radiation therapy は「放射線治療」が取り入れられています。
