おととしの前の年 を英語で教えて!

「The year before last」は、「一昨年」という意味で、直訳すると「最後の年の前の年」です。これは、今年ではなく、去年でもなく、その前の年を指します。例えば、現在が2023年であれば、「the year before last」は2021年を指します。主に過去の出来事を話す際に使われます。例えば、友人との会話で「一昨年の夏休みに海外旅行に行った」を英語で表現すると、「I went on a trip abroad in the summer of the year before last.」となります。
