思いがけない を英語で教えて!

反対意見を述べたら、それに反対する人が多数いたので、「思いがけない事態になってしまった」と言いたいです。

「Unexpectedly」は、「思いがけなく」「突然」「予期せず」などの意味を持つ英語の副詞です。何かが計画や予測とは異なる方法で起こったとき、または予想外に何かが現れたときなどに使用します。例えば、「彼は予期せずにパーティーに現れた（He showed up at the party unexpectedly.）」や、「彼女の試験の結果は思いがけずに良かった（Her exam results were unexpectedly good.）」などの文で使われます。

unexpectedは"予期しない、意外な、突然の"
out of the blueは"出し抜けに"という意味です。
