「高をくくる」は英語では despise や underestimate などで表現することができます。

I couldn't solve it at all if I despised it.

「更生する」は英語では rehabilitate や reform などで表現することができます。

「拘束」は英語では restraint や restriction で表現することができます。
※ be bound や hold で"縛られる"や"拘束される"を表現できます。
