部屋付けにする を英語で教えて!

1. charge it to my room
部屋付けにする

charge to は「（主語）が（目的語）をつけで買う」という意味です。今回の it は「ルームサービス」を表します。

Can you please charge it to my room when I order room service?
ルームサービスを頼むとき、部屋付けにしてもらえますか？

2. put it on my room account
部屋付けにする

room account とすることでホテルの部屋のアカウントに料金を加えることを指します。

Can you put this charge on my room account, please?
この料金を私の部屋のアカウントに付けてもらえますか？

他の場所でも返却できますか？ を英語で教えて!

Is it possible to return it at a different location?

1. Can I return it at another location?
他の場所でも返却できますか？

return は「返却する」、another location で「他の場所」を表します。
Can I は「〜できますか？」と丁寧に聞くことができる表現です。

Can I return the rental car at another location if I have a different travel plan?
違う旅行プランがある場合、他の場所でレンタカーを返却できますか？

2. Is it possible to return it at a different location?
他の場所でも返却できますか？

Is it possible は「可能ですか？」というより丁寧に聞く表現です。
another の代わりに、a different を使って「違う場所」を表せます。

Is it possible to return the rental car at a different location?
別の場所でレンタカーを返却することはできますか？

汚部屋 を英語で教えて!

1. messy room
汚部屋

messy は「散らかった、汚い」という意味の形容詞です。「汚」なので、dirty をイメージするかもしれませんが、こちらは「不潔な物質で汚れている」というニュアンスで、「散らかった」というときには messy の方が適切です。

He's a messy room dweller who never seems to clean up.
彼は汚部屋の住人で、いつも片付けをしないようだ。

2. cluttered room
汚部屋

cluttered は「物やがらくたを無秩序に積み重ねたものがいっぱいの、または散乱した」という意味で、messy と同じように使うことができます。

The cluttered room inhabitant struggled to find space for new items.
汚部屋の住人は新しいアイテムのためのスペースを見つけるのに苦労した

ちぎりパン を英語で教えて!

1. pull-apart bread
ちぎりパン

pull は「引く」、apart は「離れて」で、合わせて手で引き裂いて食べることができるように作られたパンのスタイルを指します。

Your arms are so cute, just like pull-apart bread!
あなたの腕はちぎりパンみたいでとてもかわいい！

2. tear-and-share bread
ちぎりパン

tear は「裂く、ちぎる」という意味で、「テア」と発音します。引き裂いてシェアするスタイルのパンを表します。

Your chubby arms remind me of tear-and-share bread because they look so cute!
あなたのムチムチの腕はちぎりパンを思い出させる、だってとてもかわいいから！

腐る前に を英語で教えて!

1. before it spoils
腐る前に

spoil は「腐敗する、傷む」という意味の動詞です。食べ物が腐る前に使うことを指します。spoil には他にも「人を甘やかす」という意味があり、ネガティブなニュアンスを含んでいます。

Let's use the vegetables in the fridge before they spoil.
冷蔵庫の野菜を腐る前に使ってしまおう。

2. before it goes bad
腐る前に

go bad は食べ物が腐ったり悪くなる前に使うことを示します。直訳すると「悪い方に行く」という意味ですが、come は近づくので良い意味、反対に go は遠ざかるので悪い意味に使われることが多いです。

I’ll freeze this bread before it goes bad to preserve it.
このパンが腐る前に冷凍して保存するつもりだ。

freeze: 冷凍する
preserve: 保存する
