先進国よりも発展途上国の数の方が多い を英語で教えて!

レッスンで先進国・発展途上国の話をしますが、途上国の先生に失礼のない言いかたってありますか？

個人的にひとつめの方が、あまり失礼がないかなと思います。

先進国＝developed country or 第一、第二世界の国＝first or second world countries

発展途上国＝developing county or 第三世界の国＝third world country

develop = 発展する・栄える　
developing と表した方が、響きとしてこれから発展していくんだというのがうかがえて、
個人的には第三世界の国という言い方よりマシな気がします。

また、there is/ there are の構文は、客観的事実を淡々と述べるニュアンスのある文なので、
とくに感情を交えずといった感じで、失礼になりにくいと思います。
