so + 形容詞 + that S can / can't V：あまりに～で～だ
ある状態 or 様子（形容詞）を強調し、その後に結果を表す構文です。例えば so kind that I can help you「とても親切に手伝う」や so tired that I can't eat「疲れで何も食べられない」などの様に使います。また結果内容が can't で否定文の場合は too ～ to 構文に書き換えられる場合があります。
例）
I was too tired to eat food. ＝ I was so tired that I couldn't eat food.
