眼鏡をかけないと読めない を英語で教えて!

遠くの看板に何が書いてあるのか聞かれたので、「眼鏡をかけないと読めない」と言いたいです。

1. cannot read without wearing glasses
cannot は、「～できない」、read は「読む」、without wearing glasses は、「眼鏡をかけなければ」です。

A. Can you read the sign across the street?
(通りの向こうの看板に、何て書いてあるか読める？)
B. I can't read it at all without wearing glasses.
(眼鏡がないと全く読めないよ。)

sign 「看板」、across the street「通りの向こう」です。

2. unable to read without glasses
unable to read は、cannot readと同じで、「～できない」という意味です。

Since the letter of this book is so small, I am unable to read it without glasses.
(その本の文字がとても小さいので、眼鏡なしでは読めません。)

どちらの文も、without wearing glasses でも、without glasses でも大丈夫です。

1. I can't read without wearing glasses.
眼鏡をかけないと読めない 。

read は「読む」「本を読む」などの意味を表す動詞ですが、「知る」や「学ぶ」などの意味でも使われます。

I have bad eyesight, so I can't read without wearing glasses.
（目が悪いから、眼鏡をかけないと読めない。）

2. I’m unable to read without wearing eyeglasses.
眼鏡をかけないと読めない。

「出来ない」は can't で表現されることが多いのですが、（少し固いニュアンスにはなりますが）be unable to でも表現できます。また、eyeglasses も「眼鏡」という意味を表す名詞ですが、こちらはアメリカ英語の表現で、イギリス英語では基本的に使われません。

I’m unable to read without wearing eyeglasses, so could you read it instead of me?
（眼鏡をかけないと読めないので、代わりに読んでいただけますか？）
