ざっと数えてみたが、人数が足りない。 を英語で教えて!

旅行の参加者を集めるように言わて確認したら既定の人数に足りないので、「ざっと数えてみたが、人数が足りない。」と言いたいです。

roughly という単語を使うことで、数えるのが正確ではなく、大まかに確認したことを示します。
people は複数扱いのため、there areとなります。
