初めまして☆2017年からNCを始め、2019年にNC講師になりました。現在は育児の隙間時間に翻訳や自習をしながら復帰に向けて準備中です♪

陣取る を英語で教えて!

早朝に行って、一番大きな桜の木の下を陣取った。
I went early the morning to encamp under the biggest cherry blossoms.

encamp = 陣取る、幕営する
cherry blossom = 桜

ex. 花火鑑賞に１番良い場所を確保します。
We have secured the best place to watch fireworks.

secure = ～を確保する、～を獲得する
firework = 花火

ex.彼は彼女の陣地を占領している。
He occupies her position.
occupy = 陣取る、占領する

腰抜け を英語で教えて!

お化け屋敷に入れないなんて彼は腰抜けだ。
He's a chicken who can't enter a haunted house.

chicken = 腰抜け、臆病者
haunted house = お化け屋敷

ex.彼は臆病なので新しいことに挑戦しない。
He's a coward, so he doesn't try new things.
be coward = 臆病な、意気地なし

ex. 彼女は気が小さいので、なかなか決断出来ません
She is such a wimp that she can' make a decision soon.
such a (形容詞)＋名詞, that ～ = とても・・で～だ。
wimp = 弱虫

めっちゃ怖かった を英語で教えて!

あぁ、めっちゃ怖かったです。
Oh, I was so scared.

be scared = 怯えている、怖い
scare～ = ～を怖がらせる

ex. あまりにも怖くて腰をぬかしました。
I was so scared that I couldn't stand up.
I was so shocked that I was unable to stand up.

be shocked = 衝撃な、驚いた
be unable to = ～出来ない
stand up = 立ち上がる

弱虫 を英語で教えて!

お化けが怖いなんて弱虫ね。
You're coward to be afraid of ghosts.

be coward = 臆病な
be afraid of～ = ～が怖い

ex. 子供の頃は臆病でしたが、今は彼は勇敢です。
He was timid when he was a child, but now he's brave.

timid = びきびくしている、臆病な ↔ brave = 勇敢な

ex.彼は弱虫と呼ばれている。
He is called a wimp.
wimp = 弱虫、意気地なし
