初めまして☆2017年からNCを始め、2019年にNC講師になりました。現在は育児の隙間時間に翻訳や自習をしながら復帰に向けて準備中です♪

外の人間 を英語で教えて!

クラスでは外の人間のように感じた。
I felt (that) I was left out in the class.

外の人間≒「蚊帳の外」という解釈で考えます。
「外の人間 」は【I am left out 】【I am out of the loop】などで言うことが出来ます。
また「疎外感を感じる」【feel alienated】も近い意味で使えます。

ex. 新しいクラスに慣れるまで疎外感を感じました。
In the new class, I felt alienated until I got used to the class.
alienated= 引き離された、疎外された

外で食事して帰らない？ を英語で教えて!

今夜、外で食事して帰らない？
Why don't we go home after having dinner outside tonight?

「外で食事して帰らない？」は【Why don't we go home after having dinner outside ?】
で言うことが出来ます。

Why don't we～？＝～しませんか？
go home＝家に帰る
have dinner outside=外で食事する

ex.ダイエットでもしたらどうですか？
Why don't you go on a diet?
Why don't you～？＝(あなたは)～したらどうですか？

開店休業状態 を英語で教えて!

最近はお客さんも少なく開店休業状態です。
Recently there are few customers and the store opens but can't get any work.

「開店休業状態」は英語で【It opens but can't get any work.】で言うことが出来ます。
また【be no longer popular 】を使って言うことも出来ます。

ex. この店は昔は流行っていましたが今は開店休業状態です。
This store used to be very popular, but now it’s no longer like that .

開店したばかり を英語で教えて!

あの文房具店は開店したばかりだよ。
That stationery store has just opened.

「開店したばかり」は英語で【It has just opened.】で言うことが出来ます。
☆have/has just ＋Vpp(過去分詞）＝ 現在完了の【latest event】

ex. この会議は今始まったばかりです。
This meeting has just started.

ex. 彼は今到着しました。
He has just arrived.

また【be just abou to～】でも言うことが出来ます。
ex. ちょうど彼に電話したところです。
I was just about to call him.

絵空事 を英語で教えて!

「絵空事」は「物事を事実よりも誇張し嘘を加えたりする事」を意味し、英語で【pipe dream】と言います。

ex. このドラマは絵空事だけど面白い話が多い。
This drama is a pipe dream, but there are a lot of intersting stories.
☆ pipe dream=空想的な話、夢物語

また【an absurd idea＝ばかげた考え】【figment=空想、絵空事】などもほぼ同じ意味で使うことが出来ます。

ex. 彼の説明はいつも絵空事の様です。
His explanation is always like an absurd idea.
