ポイント解説
third-year memorial service と訳されることもありますが、英語圏では一般的ではなく、むしろ誤解を招きます（"third-year" は「3年後」と取られやすいため）。
「三回忌」は実際には亡くなって2年目に行われるため、英語では「second anniversary」や「two years since he passed away」と表現するのが自然です。
memorial service は「法要」「追悼式」にあたる語で、宗教色が薄めの場面でも使えます。
