出馬断念 を英語で教えて!

選挙が近いので、「私が推していた候補は出馬断念しないで欲しい」と言いたいです。

１で示した例文の give up to 以降を stand for the election に置き換えることもできますが、 stand for という熟語が重複してしまうとくどいので、2の例文ではあえて my favorite candidate を使っています。

2. drop out of the race
出馬を断念する、選挙戦から降りる
