I was born and raised in Japan, surrounded by a culture that values kindness, curiosity, and lifelong learning—qualities that have shaped who I am and how I approach teaching. A few years ago, life brought me across the ocean to the beautiful islands of Hawaiʻi, and I now feel incredibly fortunate to call this place my home.
When I’m not tutoring or preparing lessons, you’ll most likely find me somewhere outdoors enjoying the sunshine. Hawaiʻi’s beaches are my favorite places to unwind—there’s something magical about listening to the waves, watching the light change over the water, and feeling connected to nature. I also love curling up with a good book, whether it’s fiction, nonfiction, or something that helps me grow as an educator. Reading has always been a way for me to travel, learn, and explore new perspectives.
Yoga is another big part of my life. It helps me stay grounded and balanced, and it’s a practice that keeps me centered both physically and mentally. I find that yoga complements teaching beautifully, because both require patience, awareness, and compassion. The calm and clarity it brings helps me show up fully for my students.
As a tutor, I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable, supported, and confident. I truly enjoy getting to know each person I work with—their strengths, their goals, and even the challenges they’re facing. Learning is a personal journey, and I believe it should feel encouraging and enjoyable. Whether we’re building academic skills, practicing conversation, or exploring a new subject together, my hope is that you always feel heard and valued.
I’m also fluent in Japanese, so please feel free to chat with me in whichever language makes you feel most at ease—English, Japanese, or a mix of both! Language is such a powerful way to connect, and I love helping learners bridge those worlds.
I’m genuinely excited to meet you all and to be part of your learning journey. Mahalo for taking the time to get to know me, and I can’t wait to learn more about you too!
