協和音 を英語で教えて!

2つ以上の音を同時に鳴らした時によく溶け合って聞こえる音を指す時に「協和音」と言いますが、これは英語でなんというのですか？

ラテン語の consonantia 「調和, 同意（音的に)」から来る言葉です。

When two or more sounds are played simultaneously, the sound that blends in well is referred to as consonance.
「二つもしくは、それ以上の音を同時に鳴らした時に、よく溶け合う音を指して、協和音と言います。」

※simultaneously　「同時に」blend「混じる」ブレンドは日本語の中でも使われている同じ言葉です。

Consonance produces a sound that is pleasant to the ear.
「協和音は、耳に心地よい音を作り出します。」

※produce「作る、生産する、もたらす」　pleasant「心地よい、気持ちの良い」

「協和音」は不可算名詞で「consonance」と言います。
（例文）
True appreciation of music consisted in knowing the musical consonances and understanding in them the reflection of divine harmony.
音楽を真に理解するには、音楽の協和音を知り、そこに素晴らしい調和が反映されていることを理解する必要があります。

構文は第一文型（主語［True appreciation of music］＋動詞［consisted］）に副詞句（音楽の協和音を知り、そこに素晴らしい調和が反映されていることを理解する：in knowing the musical consonances and understanding in them the reflection of divine harmony）を組み合わせて構成します。

因みに「不協和音」は「dissonance」と言います。
