別再只會說 good!40 個更精準自然的英文稱讚詞

「good job」、「good idea」——每次想稱讚別人或表達認可,腦中第一個跳出來的,往往都是「good」

「good」幾乎是英文裡最萬用的形容詞,可以翻成「好的」、「不錯的」、「優良的」、「令人滿意的」,口語上甚至能直接代表「讚」、「棒」、「可以」。它方便、好用,但也因為太萬用,有時反而顯得模糊,少了一點真正的重量。

這篇文章整理了幾個比「good」更精準、更自然的替代詞,以及本身就帶有正面語氣的形容詞,幫你在不同場合裡表達得更到位

 

先搞懂:為什麼不能一直用 good?

英文裡有個很重要的概念叫「搭配詞」(collocation)。就算兩個字意思相近,它們習慣搭配的名詞、動詞往往不同。比如「a solid plan」是自然的說法,但「a thorough plan」聽起來就有點怪。

所以學替代詞,不只是記意思,更重要的是理解它在句子裡的語氣、重量與使用場景。

有些字適合稱讚能力,有些適合評價成果;有些正式,有些偏口語。如果只是一股腦地把 good 換成高級字,反而容易讓英文聽起來不自然。

接下來介紹這些單字時,都會搭配實際例句,幫你一起建立語感。

 

最常用的幾個 good 替代詞

excellent:優秀的、卓越的

這是最直接升級「good」的詞。當你說某件事 excellent,表示不只是「不錯」,而是明顯高於平均水準。常用於正式評價、書面報告或給予肯定時。

The team delivered an excellent presentation under tight deadlines.
(團隊在緊迫的時程下交出了一份出色的簡報。)
Her written communication skills are excellent.
(她的書面溝通能力非常優秀。)

solid:紮實的、穩健的

solid 傳達的是可靠、有根基、不虛浮的正面感。它很適合用來評價提案、策略或工作表現,語氣成熟又自然。

This is a solid proposal. Let’s move forward with it.
(這是一份很紮實的提案,我們繼續推進。)

impressive:令人印象深刻的

當某件事超出你的預期,讓你真心感到驚艷時,用 impressive 很自然。

The growth numbers for last quarter were genuinely impressive.
(上季的成長數字讓人印象深刻。)

有些字本身就等於「very good」

very good at something = proficient / masterful

形容某人對某件事掌握到了很高的程度

proficient:精通的、熟練的
masterful:技藝高超的、爐火純青的

She is proficient in three programming languages.
(她精通三種程式語言。)
His presentation style is masterful—he never loses the room.
(他的簡報風格爐火純青,從不失去現場掌控。)

very skilled = expert

expert:專家的、非常熟練的

We brought in an expert to review the security architecture.

very creative = ingenious

形容點子精妙、出人意料地聰明。

ingenious:巧妙的、極具創意的

「good」本身沒有錯,但很多時候,它不足以讓對方真正感受到你的評價。

當你說:That’s an insightful suggestion.

而不是:That’s a good suggestion.

對方感受到的,會是更具體、更有份量的肯定
