「動機」可以用英文的 motive 表達。
motive for ～ing 或者加上名詞，可以表達「～的動機」。

例）I think I don't need the motive for learning a foreign language.
譯）我認為學習外語不需要動機。

另外，reason 有「理由」的意思，根據你的問題內容，「開始學習外語不需要理由」也可以用這個詞替代。
當被問到志願動機時，可以這樣使用：

例）Could you tell me your reason for applying for our college?
譯）可以告訴我你申請我們學校的動機嗎？

・apply for～ 意思是「申請～、報名～」
