「變的要好」可以用英文的 become close 或 be intimate 等表達。

The library was the reason I became close with him.
（圖書館是我和他變得要好的原因。）

Given his and my tragic fate, I don't think I should be intimate with him, but I can't control my feelings for him.
（考慮到我們的悲劇命運，我覺得我不應該和他親近，但是我無法控制自己對他的感情。）
