・It is a sad reality.

例句：
When their houses suffer from the typhoon and they are unable to spend an ordinary life, they say, ''It's a sad reality.''
當他們的房子遭受颱風侵襲，他們無法過正常的生活時，他們會說：「這是一個悲傷的現實。」

也可以用其它表現方式，例如 ''It's an unhappy fact.'' 或　"It's bitter actuality.''。
又或者也可以說　''it's a cold reality.''。
