除草可以用mowing/weeding來表達。

mowing是"刈，割（草、穀類植物等）"
weeding有"除草"的意思。

You should mow the grass while you still can.
「你應該趁著還能的時候除草。」

Since weeding by hand is time-consuming, I decided to purchase a machine.
「由於用手除草很耗時，我決定購買一台機器。」
