"My colleague fell ill and is unable to come, so I'm here as a substitute."
我的同事因生病而無法到來，所以我是作為他的代理而來的。

若想用英語說出「作為代理而來的」，只要說「I'm here as a substitute.」就可以了。因為「substitute」可以作為「成為替代品」的意思來使用，因此可以表示「代理」的意思。
此外「I'm here as a replacement.」也可以傳達出相同的意思。
