「知己」可以用英語 bosom friend 或 confidant 來表達。

而且，英語也會用 soul mate來表達出類似意思，但要說這是要使用哪一種，因為這種說法比較常用在戀人當中，因此會與中文所說的「知己」有點不一樣。

I have trusted him since school days and he is my bosom friend.
（從學生時代起我們就一直互相信任，他是我的知己。）

he's my confidant I can confidently say that he will never betray me.
（他是我的知己。我可以自信地說，他永遠不會背叛我。）
