1. high hurdle
「門檻很高」
hunrdle 是指「障礙」或「困難的事情」的意思。加上 high 就變成「高的障礙」，也就是「門檻很高」的意思。

There are high hurdles to becoming a famous singer.
成為有名的歌手門檻很高。

另外，high 也可以用 big 來代替，表示「很大的困難」，也就是「門檻很高」。

2. difficult
「困難」這個意思也可以用來表達和「門檻很高」類似的說法。

Don't make things difficult.
