・two-factor authentication

two-factor 是「2個要素、2階段的」，authentication 是「認證」的意思，所以會有上述的表達方式。

例句
A: How do they protect my online bank account?
網路銀行的帳戶是如何被保護的？
B: There's always two-factor authentication to login to the online bank account.
登入網路銀行時一定會有兩步驟認證。

protect：保護、守護
bank account：銀行帳戶

如果是兩步驟以上的認證，則會使用 multi「多重的」，稱為 multi-factor authentication。
