・marital status

marital 是一個形容詞，意思是「結婚的、婚姻的」。status 則有「地位」的意思。
順帶一提，marriage是一個名詞，意思是「結婚」，但因為可以用來表示「已婚的狀態」，也能表達「婚姻關係」，所以這次也可以使用。不過，marital status 一般來說比較常用。

例）
It's not a good idea to ask about marital status out of the blue.
突然問別人的婚姻狀態不是一件好事。
