在台灣，舞台的左側（從觀眾席看是舞台右邊），在英文中稱為 stage left（舞台左側）；舞台的右側（從觀眾席看是舞台左邊），在英文中稱為 stage right（舞台右側）。

劇場上，當演員站在舞台上面向觀眾時，
左邊稱為 stage left
右邊稱為 stage right
請參考以下例句。

＊The actor entered from stage left.
＊那位演員從舞台右側登場。

・enter
「登場」　用於演員從舞台側邊出場等情況。entered 是過去式。

＊The piano was placed at stage right.
＊鋼琴被放在舞台左側。

・place
「放置（物品、人）」在這裡是 be placed 的被動語態（被～放置）。因為主語是鋼琴，所以要翻譯成「鋼琴被放置」。was 是 is 的過去式。
