pay for ～是「支付～的費用」的意思。

1. I paid for the bento at the register of the convenience store.
　我在那家便利商店的收銀台支付了便當的費用。

「收銀台」是register，「便利商店」是convenience store。
便利商店是在1920年代於美國誕生的。因為從早上7點營業到晚上11點，所以被命名為「7-ELEVEN」。美國的便利商店多數設在加油站旁邊。與台灣相比，商品種類較少，通常是在加油時順便購物的情況較多。

「支付費用」也可以說成pay the charge。charge是「費用」的意思。

2. Please pay the charge in exchange for the goods.
　請在交付商品時支付費用。

in exchange for ～是「以～作為交換」的意思，goods是「商品、物品」的意思。
