面白いかどうか を英語で教えて!

買った本が面白いのか聞かれたのので、「　この本が面白いかどうかは読んでみないと分からない。」と言いたいです。

1. whether it’s interesting
whether 「〜かどうか」を使用した表現です。 interesting 「面白い」ですが、代わりに fun も使用できます。 両者の違いは、 fun が楽しい出来事に対してで、 interesting が 知的な興味に対する「面白い」になります。

例文
I won’t know whether this book is interesting until I read it.
この本が面白いかどうかは、読んでみないと分からない。
※ until ：「〜するまで」という接続詞です。
※ won't：「〜しないだろう」未来の否定です。

2. if it’s interesting
whether の代わりに if 「〜かどうか」を用いた表現です。 whether はフォーマルな場面で使用し、こちらは日常会話で使われます。もちろん、 interesting の代わりに fun を用いても大丈夫です。

例文
I’ll read the book if it’s interesting.
もし面白ければ、その本を読むよ。

if には上記のように「～かどうか」と、皆さんご存知の「もし」の使い方がありますので、どちらともマスターしましょう。
