表達頻繁出現的事物有多種說法，每種說法都有略微不同的語感。

happens

動詞「happen」是指「某事發生」。

實際上，「主詞+happen（現在式）」也可以傳達「某事頻繁發生」的語感。

如果某件事經常發生，我們就會說「這的確常常發生！」

以此來安慰犯錯的人也很有用，我們可以告訴對方「這是很正常的事情，每個人都會遇到這種情況，所以別太擔心」。

此外，像「It happens」一樣，主詞通常是以「it」開頭（「happen」是第三人稱單數現在氏，所以是「-s」）。

A：I made a huge mistake at work. I’m pretty sure that my boss is angry at me.
B：It happens.
A：我在工作上犯了一個大錯。我老闆肯定對我很生氣。
B：這很常見，不用擔心。

A：My girlfriend and I have argued a lot lately. I’m sick and tired of that.

common

「Common」是形容詞，意思是「一般的」或「共享的」，也會出現在「common sense（常識）」等表達。

很多時候都適用於某些事情或情況，通常是表達一般發生的事。

因為它是一個形容詞，

・主詞 + be 動詞 + common
主詞是一般性的=經常發生的事情

可以用這個形式表達為「經常」。

It’s common to see people using smartphones on the train these days.
如今，在火車上看到人們使用智慧型手機是很常見的。

Depopulation is common and a serious problem in the countryside.
人口減少是農村普遍存在的嚴重問題。

typical

「typical」是一個形容詞，意思是「典型的」，跟「common」意思相近。

「common」是指某事很常見，在不同的地方和情況也會經常遇到。

另一方面，「typical」在某種意義上是相似的，表示某物傾向於在某種情況下出現，但不一定是一個普遍或常見的概念。

例如「在101前拍照是很常見的」。這不是普遍常見的事，而是一種典型的行動。因此「typical」這個詞會更常被使用。

It’s typical for traffic to be heavy during annual leave.
年假期間交通堵塞是正常的。

It’s typical that teenagers want to spend more time with their friends than with their families.

frequent

「frequent」是個形容詞，代表「頻繁的」，用於描述經常發生的事情。

它經常跟「frequent occurrence」作為組合，表示為名詞「常見情況」。

此外，副詞「frequently（頻繁的）」在日常對話、商務對話和電子郵件裡也經常使用，所以一定要記住。

Traffic jams are a frequent occurrence during rush hour in big cities.
交通堵塞時常發生在大城市的上下班高峰時間。

It’s frequent that a lot of people catch the flu during the winter time.
很多人容易在冬季患流感，這是常有的事。

In my area, power outages are a frequent occurrence during storms.

名詞「tendency（傾向）」也可以表示「經常發生的事情」，這取決於上下文和表達方式。

I tend to get sleepy when I’m watching a movie.
我常在看電影時感到疲倦。

I tend to get nervous before public speaking.

My son tends to cry when he wakes up in the morning.
