初めまして☆2017年からNCを始め、2019年にNC講師になりました。現在は育児の隙間時間に翻訳や自習をしながら復帰に向けて準備中です♪

将棋倒し を英語で教えて!

将棋倒しが起きないといいね。
①I hope peole won't fall like a dominoes on the road.
fall like a dominoes=将棋倒し、ドミノのように倒れる

②I hope people won't fall down one after another on the bridge.
fall down one after another =次々に倒れる、将棋倒し

【参考】
stampede=どっと押し寄せる、殺到する
※場面により将棋倒しの様な状況を表現する場合があるようです。

共演 を英語で教えて!

この二人の共演って珍しいね!
It's rare for these two to play together !
play together = 共演する

①彼は父親と映画で共演します。
He acts with his hather in a movie.
acts with～＝～と共演する

②彼は父親と映画で共演した
He has co-starred with his hather in a movie.
co-star / co-act=共演する

ex. cast=出演者(エキストラも含めた全ての出演者)

あまり～ではない を英語で教えて!

あまり好きじゃないな。
①I don’t really like it.
not really=それほど＝ではない

②I don't like it that much.
that much＝そんなには

Q.Do you like this dress?　このドレスは好みですか？

A.This is not my favorite.　これは好みではありません。
A.I don’t like it wery much.あまり好きではありません。
A.This is my favorite type.　これは私の好みのタイプです。

どのくらい待ちますか？ を英語で教えて!

Q.どのくらい待ちますか？
How long do I (have to) wait?
A.少々お待ちください。
Please wait a moment.
A.しばらくお待ちください。
Please wait a while.

Q.どのくらい待ちますか？
How long is the wait?
A.Please wait for about an hour.
1時間ほどお待ち下さい。

Q.（既に始まっている状態で）どのくらい待ちますか？
How much longer will it take?
A.1時間ほどです。
It will be about an hour.

半分食べない？ を英語で教えて!

半分食べない？
would you like to eat half?

残り半分食べませんか？
Would you like to eat the other half？

はい、是非食べます。
Yes, I will definitely eat it.
