Mel, I enjoyed talking to you after a week's interval. Thank you for sharing what you have studied in the cognitive science class. It was informative and enjoyable. I was glad that I had an opportunity to share my favorite author and his book with you. Night on the Galactic Railroad by Kenji Miyazawa is the most beautiful story I've ever read. It's a story about real happiness and sacrifices for it. Recently, I am rereading it. I wish you the best of luck with your exams. See you.

Mel, you are always such a fantastic listener. Today, I shared some local news, and it was fun talking about Amabie, a mythical creature that is said to repel plagues. I wish the Amabie to bring an end to the pandemic. The other article was about a book, “The Last Cherry Blossom.” A hibakusha’s daughter wrote it based on a true story. Hiroshima marked its 76th anniversary of the atomic bombing this year. Thank you so much for showing your deep interest and compassion. Have a beautiful day!

A typhoon is approaching the western part of Japan, and it started to pour. Regardless of the bad weather outside, the conversation with you was amusing, Mel. Today, the Tokyo Olympics 2020 ended, which reminded me of the first Tokyo Olympics in 1964. I was an elementary school boy then. I reread a book titled J-Boys that described boys’ life in Japan half a century ago. Like Kazuo in the book, I had never tasted a hamburger in those days. Thank you for being a great friend to talk to. See you.
